Annual Service @ CP Marine AZ

Most people don't understand the rigors that a boat engine and powertrain go through.

So let's put that into perspective....

A comparison between what boat motors go through as opposed to your car.

  1. Driving your boat would be like driving down the freeway in your car in first gear at 50 mph. Why? Because your boat motor is constantly turning in the rpm range between 3000 to 5000. In a car normal rpm is 1500. This is why it is important to change oils in motor and drives.

  2. Cars are driven most everyday as boats are not, so the fuel is always good and seals are in good shape. In boats fuel goes bad within a 2 week period because all of the fuels with ethanol these days, as well as the rubber impeller that cools your engine, stays in one position for an extended period of time which makes them brittle and odd shaped causing low or no water pressure and causing overheating. Average motor repair swap is in the $5500 -$6500 range.

  3. Cars have shocks to absorb impact, boats dont so routine"tighten up" is important. This is why it is important to keep engine alignment correct as improper alignment will cause engine coupler damage and a $1000.00 repair. Avoid this with annual service provided by CP Marine!

  4. When a car breaks down you can step out, be safe, and get a tow. When a boat breaks down you are not only dealing with mother nature and the elements, but the safety of family and/or friends. Average car tow 80.00 – a lot cheaper than a hospital visit from hypothermia or heat stroke.

  5. Your car has brakes that need changing about every 40,000 on average. Most boat trailers need to be done once in a lifetime, AND it is very important to do!
